Looking for America on the New Jersey Turnpike

(New Edition In Progress Under Contract)
The original hardback edition of this book was published by Rutgers University Press in 1989. Over a number of years, this edition sold out, but demand was continuing, so a paperback edition was issued in 1992. Ten years later, that edition was also sold out, so a second paperback edition was issued in 2002. Now, that edition is sold out. Much has changed at the Turnpike since 1989, so the Press decided to bring out a new edition with a new introduction explaining some of those changes.
The first change was the implementation of E-ZPass which began in 1998. That was followed by the consolidation of the New Jersey Turnpike with the Garden State Parkway back in 2003. Shortly later, there was the announcement of the widening of the Turnpike between Exits 6 and 9. Finally, there was the news of the plan to update all of the tired, old Service Areas of the Turnpike in 2017. This new edition is expected to be released in December 2024
